Yesterday my friends and I celebrated the 4th of July with a barbecue and improvised (steel wool) fireworks. But that's only one of the celebrations I'm talking about!
Last Sunday, the Ukarumpa community celebrated with a young couple who were officially commissioned to work with the Saut Manda people group. What a joyful celebration to see the Saut Manda people one step closer to having God's word in their own language!
This morning in the worship service we celebrated with three couples who were recognized for 25 years of mission service! It was encouraging to hear them share about how God brought them through their trials and struggles, and also to hear about the work they've accomplished for the kingdom. One couple will be celebrating the dedication of the New Testament they worked on next month.
So you can see - there are many reasons to celebrate!

I'm so glad you shared your celebration with us. Our God has used so many people in His service and what God has done throught them has encouraged us to keep on in His service. Thanks for the good news of what God has done, is doing, and will do in PNG. Praying that our God will continue to bless you.

Hi, Sara,
Glad you all were able to celebrate so many different blessings! We had a picnic with Rich's brother and wife on the fourth and he, Rich, and Mary attended the Air Show at Broome County on the fifth with the Navy Blue Angels performing. Could not believe we had a couple whole days of sunshine after so long--blue skies and puffy white clouds, like so many blessings can be simply taken for granted, so guess we just needed a reminder! So thankful for all the news from PNG of the devotion of translators. We are so blessed! We discussed the Rapture in SS class yesterday and I got thinking about the sky being rolled back as a scroll and reminded about a song by Mark Bishop titled "Blue Skies" and that is how he sees it, "Nothing but blue skies."
