No drain, no pain

It's the third day after my surgery... Most of the time I am feeling ok, although I am still having episodes of bad pain occasionally. The pain is centered around a plastic grenade-like drain that is hanging out of my side. It was supposed to come out today, but now they are saying they might take it out Friday or maybe not until Monday.

I am spending my time laying in a recliner, sleeping mostly. The doctor thinks it would be good for me to try and walk some, so I will try and pace around my tiny apartment later.

Thanks for your prayers. Keep praying for relief from pain and that the drain will be taken out soon. Once the drain comes out, my pain should be a lot less.

Hi, Sara,
Wondering if your surgery was laparoscopic and the pain could be from the gas they use to inflate the area to see? Hope you have adequate pain relief until Monday. Glad your Mom had a safe trip home. Rich did not get back to work though he went prepared to. The Dr. put a 20 lb. limit on lifting and the hospital felt that could be a liability issue, so he has to wait til it is OK for him to lift more. Since he starts shots on Monday for further treatment, it may be a good, God-thing that it worked out this way.
We know that bodies do not like foreign objects embedded in them, so hope when the drain is removed, the pain goes with it.
Walking some is a good idea. Rich went around the kitchen table a few times a day to start.
Take care and remember to wait on God's timing, even when it seems longer than we like:) He knows best.
SS verses are Hosea 2:20 and 14:9
Love and prayers,
